Thoughts for Thursday April 19th

This guy was told by his Homeowners Association that he couldn't fly the American flag in his yard. So..

This has been floating around Facebook, and I knew it was worth sharing with you, may we all be so proud!

Good morning everyone!!! Happy Thursday!!! I am not quite awake yet, but here I am, hoping to have a safe day today, after my little mishap, with a solid wood door yesterday falling over and landing on my head, it did not make for a good rest of the day. I am still a bit sore, and my neck is killing me but I am still alive so that is the important part. 

Have things to do today for the store, and a few errands to run, so hopefully I don’t get to tired to quickly. Going to lunch with my new friend this afternoon, and I am totally excited about that, Yeah!!! He is so awesome! And now that the old is completely behind me, and out of my system, I am ready to move forward 100% Life is good today and I am happy, (in a bit of pain) but happy.

I am so totally excited about all the retail store fixtures we will be picking up from the Big named Corporate store that is closing down at one of our malls here in town, and the Store Manager is a gem to work with, and is totally amazing! Mall management on the other hand has put a damper on things and said we only have 2 hours a day to move things out, from 8 am to 10 am before the mall opens for business, uggg that is going to be tough, so I canceled my first U-haul reservation and rescheduled for an earlier time, and a much bigger truck, now to just find the man power to help us get as much out as possible in that 2 hour time frame.

Not a whole lot else going on this weekend, just scouring Craigslist and Freecycle, for more goodies to put into the store, so it is full when we open. I did add 2 new fun pages to the $10.00 Thrift website you can find them here at Arizona10Thrift.wordpress.com/

 I received confirmation this morning that my store banners, fliers and swapper’s receipt books mailed out yesterday and should hopefully be here by next Tuesday yeah! I cant wait to see them.

ONLY 42 more day’s by the way until the store opens, in case you were wondering.

Our Story

Our Story begins in 1987 on a trip to Hawaii where we first saw oysters containing colorful pearls, being opened before our eyes. Telling Tuesday April 17th

I didn’t forget, I just almost did not remember, but I am here now, and I had an AWESOME day!!!!!

Had not been feeling to well the past few days, so I had an appointment scheduled to see my chiropractor this morning, the man is amazing, so I got up and got myself ready to go and had a few minutes to sit and do my normal morning routine here on the computer, which now consists of scouring stupid Craigslist for goodies for the store, well this morning I hit the BIG TIME! A major corporate retailer is closing one of it’s smaller stores inside one of our malls, so the manager posted a note stating that a store was closing, and that they had a few floor fixtures up for grabs, if anyone would like them, well it had been up a few mins. already when I saw it, but went for it anyway, this was a dream come true for me, so I wrote him a quick note, and this is what I said,

Simply calling me ‘amazing’ puts you at the top of the list..lol.  I am waiting for final comformation that I am allowed to do this.  I was told to ‘put out feelers’ to see what response I would have.  I also like your idea of starting your own business and know that this stuff would be put to good use.  Let me hear back from the people above me and hopefully everything will be fine.

I have had many people ask, but you are the only person I have responded to, just so you know.  I work all day today, so hopefully will be able to give you a response tomorrow morning.

Well, I am sure you can guess that this made my day, so I go to my chiropractor, get adjusted, and head straight back home, pick up the boys, and head over to the store to check out all my new goodies, and OMG this is so huge, I can fill two stores with what they are giving me, so I have a U-Haul reserved for next Thursday, when I get to go back and pick everything up. 

And I just realized that today is the 17th so we have exactly 1 month to move in, but I am not counting or anything.

I pretty much ALWAYS have some beachy decor items in my space at Stars.  But I usually create most of them all at the same time; once or twice a year.  A couple of sunny spring days usually gets me in the mood for creating some beach goodies.  Here’s what I done lately:

Big 1 liter bottle partially filled with sand and shells, and a fingerling starfish as a topper.

Thoughts for Thursday April 12th

Good morning everyone, Happy Thursday!!!

I have a bunch of running around to do today, and am going to the store, to make plans for the new windows I picked up off of Craigslist yesterday, and look at some clothing racks, so we can actually hang clothes up in the store, I also picked up a cabinet yesterday, not realizing that it was a counter, cabinet, so now I get to go shopping for a counter top, and it will be perfect at the entrance of the store for our check in counter, I am totally jazzed. I am also going to make a stop at Stardust Building Supplies, it is like a used, version of Home Depot, or a Goodwill for home building supplies, cabinets, doors, electrical, pretty much anything you  need to build a house just used.

I will take my camera with me, so I can take pictures, of our space, pre us, at the moment it is actually quite a mess, they were using it for storage, but I want it, so they have to move, and everyone that knows me, knows, I usually (but not quite always) get what I want. In this case, it is mine! Yep, I am good like that.

It is cool, cloudy and windy here today, I wish mother nature would make up her mind, so I can figure out my closet, and weather it wants to be summer, winter or fall, I would be happy with a comfortable spring.

Going to go hang with my bff Faithann this morning for a while, before I head over to the store. Want to remind everyone that Sunday April 15th is NO GAS Day, so please make sure to fill your tank on Friday or Saturday.

Life is good today and I am in a really GREAT mood even though I feel like crap, I am in desperate need of my chiropractor but he is closed today. Uggg. I have not sat down yet and worked on the blog, but I will get that done this weekend, so you can have your Wednesday’s websites back and Friday’s Favorite finds.

Well I must run, you all have a GREAT weekend and I will chat with you again next Tuesday, smile and have a GREAT day, I know I will.
